National Radon Action Plan: A Strategy for Saving Lives

SCG assisted EPA in preparing The National Radon Action Plan, which outlines the framework for reducing radon risk in 5 million homes and saving an estimated 3,200 lives annually by 2020. The goal is to eliminate avoidable radon-induced lung cancer in the United States by incorporating radon testing, radon mitigation, and radon-resistant construction into the systems that govern purchasing, financing, constructing, and renovating homes and other buildings. Working with 11 stakeholders, SCG conducted research and gathered data, organized and analyzed information, facilitated Radon Allies Leadership meetings, developed metrics to evaluate Plan impact, wrote and edited content, designed the publication, and ensured 508-compliance for web posting.
