Other Information
Dinner Planning: There will be no jointly coordinated dinners across all CISNET, but we suspect many cancer site groups will be planning their own dinners.
Lunch and Coffee Break Planning: Dining options on Fred Hutchinson campus are limited and they are not set up for the large number of guests in CISNET. Not all dining options will be open and the ones that are open are operating with limited staff, food options, hours, and we STRONGLY recommend you do not use any of the campus cafeterias or coffee bars for coffee breaks or lunch as a group. The food service contractor has indicated that the waits may be long, and they may run out of various food and beveridge items.
Lunches: We are partnering with the nearby Grand Central Bakery-Eastlake for our lunches during CISNET. They are creating a limited menu for CISNET of popular items and each person will order and pay for their lunch directly on a specialized order site they are developing. All lunches will be picked up at a common locations on campus (Arnold cafeteria Monday & Friday and B Suites [B1-72/74/76] in the Weintraub building Tuesday – Thursday). In both these locations there will be several areas for CISNET folks across cancer sites to gather and eat. Details for ordering from Grand Central Bakery will be provided in a flyer for everyone in CISNET and guests. Groups should plan for lunches to be available starting at noon and should try to have picked up their lunches by 1:00 PM.
Cancer site groups can plan to go out to lunch at nearby restaurants, but meeting planners will need to know this in advance of the meeting, Please be advised that you should plan 1 ½ to 2 hours. We are working with your Coordinating Center Administration to determine which cancer site groups plan to go out for lunch on each day.
Coffee Breaks: Coffee breaks will be ordered by your Coordinating Center Administrator, and be delivered to your conference room. Coordinating Center PI’s have agreed to pay for the coffee breaks, for your cancer site, and chip in for the Common Day Coffee Breaks.
Free Time to Explore Seattle: The Common Day will break in mid to late afternoon on Wednesday to allow some free time to explore Seattle.
